Deirdre Nielsen

Deirdre takes a holistic approach to wellbeing, supporting individuals and whānau to find practical and achievable ways to improve their physical, emotional and social health. She has been with the Pukekohe Family Health Care team as a HIP since 2020.

With a background as a New Zealand Registered Dietitian, Deirdre is passionate about supporting people with the everyday challenges that can impact their health and wellbeing. She enjoys working across a wide range of areas and has a special interest in disordered eating and eating disorders.

Deirdre is in the final stages of completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy through the University of Canterbury, enhancing her ability to support people with practical tools and strategies to build resilience, improve wellbeing, and navigate everyday life challenges.

Outside of work, Deirdre enjoys playing violin with the Manukau Symphony Orchestra, spending time outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.
