Health Improvement Practitioners (HIPs)

Our Health Improvement Practitioners (HIPs) provide practical support to help you improve your emotional, physical, and behavioral wellbeing. They can assist with a wide range of concerns, including:

✅ Low mood, anxiety, and stress
✅ Work-life balance and burnout
✅ Relationships and parenting challenges
✅ Drug and alcohol misuse
✅ Chronic pain and sleep difficulties
✅ Grief, loss, and bullying
✅ Workplace issues and behavioral concerns

What to Expect

A HIP session is a brief, solution-focused consultation lasting 20-30 minutes. During your session:

  • You may complete a short questionnaire to help identify your strengths and areas needing support.
  • Together, you and the HIP will develop a practical plan to address your concerns.

HIP sessions are not counselling or therapy, but they can be helpful while waiting for counselling or if you need practical tools to manage life’s challenges.

How to See a HIP

HIPs are available Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:15 PM. You can:

📅 See a HIP on the day of your GP or nurse appointment
